The weather the past weekend was delightfully warm, so I decided to take some time to enjoy the beautiful Laurentians in Quebec by staying for the weekend at a brand new vacation rental condo in Mont Saint-Sauveur.
The condo I stayed at is part of the new Nymark development in the heart of Saint-Sauveur and backed onto the Saint-Sauveur Mountain, which is part of the Laurentian mountain range. The spacious 3 bedroom condo, offers views of the mountain from the dining room, living rooms, kitchen, and balcony. The cottage can comfortably sleep 8 people, as there is plenty of space with 3 bedrooms and additional sofa bed.
I found myself highly impressed by the decor of the entire condo, a chic furniture that is seamlessly blended with old photographs of the area to give a warm feeling to the home.
The luxuriously furnished large condo is the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend and there are plenty of nearby amenities just a short walk away, for example, there are a variety of nearby restaurants, along with an outlet mall in the village. Directly behind the condo is the ski slopes, water slides, and trails for hiking, while only a short drive away is several spas (Polar Bear, Amerispa, & Ofuro Morin-Heights) and The Balmoral golf course.
Designed for the ski or snowboard enthusiast, there is a private ski locker within the condo to store all of your gear before and after you walk to the slopes.
On the main floor of the condo, there is the living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a bathroom. The second floor offers a bedroom with a king bed, another full bathroom, a small office space an second living room that has a pull-out sofa bed. The condo also offers free wifi, and there are a convenient washer and dryer perfect for extended vacation rentals.
The kitchen offered everything you could need, from dishes, glasses, cutlery, pans, and a variety of small appliances. I found myself delightfully surprised to find not only a coffee maker but a Nespresso machine which meant I could lazily start my day with a rich cup of espresso while reading a book on the balcony.
For those of you who love to cook, like I do, the kitchen counter seating makes it perfect to cook while talking to friends or family while you working in the kitchen.
While exploring the outlet stores in Saint-Sauveur I discovered S. Bourassa, an amazing grocery store that I strongly recommend all foodies need to visit. Within the grocery store, there is a huge walk-in cheese refrigerator that is unbelievable. The store also offers tons of fresh produce, but a variety of gourmet products and local products such a baked goods making it perfect one-stop grocery shopping.
The spectacular office space was perfect to get a bit of work in the mornings, and I loved the combination of the fur blanket, hide rug, modern white desk, and graphic wall detail.
Outside on the balcony, there were two Adirondack chairs to relax in, along with a patio table for 4 and a BBQ that you can enjoy while looking at the mountain. To keep warm on the brisk nights, the balcony also comes complete with an outdoor heater too.
Perfect for all seasons, there is something to do year round. I would imagine the ideal time to rent the unit would be in the winter, as you can watch people ski down the slopes from the living room, and when you are ready to join you can just walk over. That being said, in the summer there are waterslides, and spring or fall would be perfect for hiking or enjoying the spa. Visiting in the late fall, I spent the weekend wandering the town and visiting the spa for the perfect weekend away just a 2 hour drive outside of Ottawa, or 1 hour away from Montreal.
The brand new vacation rental condo is such a gem, and somewhere I could easily live at for an extended period of time as everything you need is available in the condo.
The rates of the condo depend on when you book but the standard rate is $200-575 a night, or $250-1150 a weekend.
