If you are looking to unwind over a leisurely afternoon you need to go for afternoon tea at Quelque Chose in Ottawa. The charming cafe offers afternoon tea, a gluten-free afternoon tea, and a small afternoon tea. I opted for the classic afternoon tea which is $38.00 and comes with tea sandwiches, a fruit bowl, pastries, scones, croissants, madeleines, macarons and a pot of tea.
The decedent afternoon tea started with selecting my choice of tea from the menu, I opted for the chai imperial which was lovely.
Everything in the afternoon tea menu was perfect. From the assorted sandwiches that included classics like cucumber and smoked salmon, the rich assortment of desserts, and best Madeline I’ve ever eaten.
The presentation of the vast amount of food was expertly done with every bite tasting as good as it looked.
As Quelque Chose specializes in macarons, the afternoon tea service comes with 3 macarons of your choice. I’ve been a long fan of Quelque Chose as their macarons are just as good as the macarons you find in Paris, so it was no surprise that the 3 macarons I selected (matcha, mint, and lemon) were all excellent.
If you wish to try the afternoon tea at Quelque Chose reservations at least 24 hours in advance are required and can be done online. I highly recommend the experience, as Quelque Chose is one of the best afternoon cafes spots in Ottawa.
