Relax At The Luxurious Chalet Charlevoix Quebec

After a few busy weeks of work, I decided to pack my bags and head off for a relaxing weekend to the luxurious cottage Chalet Charlevoix Quebec, to take to appreciate the beauty of nature with 9 of my friends.

The Location

The cottage is located just past Quebec City, in the hilly landscape of Charlevoix where you are right next to the Saint Lawrence River and the Laurentian Mountains.

Charlevoix is a great spot for skiing as Le Massif de Charlevoix ski resort is only 10km from the cottage, or if rather a more relaxing activity there are several charming towns not far too.

The Cottage

Chalet Charlevoix is a massive 6 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom cottage (there are 5 bedrooms and  4.5 bathrooms in the main cottage, plus an additional 1 bedroom and bathroom in the attached studio).

In the photo above you can see the front of the cottage you can see the main entrance door and the separate entrance for the studio to the right of the front door.

The Main Floor

Despite the fact, there were 10 people staying at the cottage it never once felt crowded, because it is so spacious. The cottage boasts not one, but 2 large living rooms with fireplaces.

In the main floor living room pictured above with vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, there was plenty of space for our entire group to hang out and enjoy the view of the Saint Lawrence River from the massive windows.

One of my favourite parts of the cottage would have to be the kitchen. Upon first arriving at the cottage I spent plenty of time exploring the cupboards, and as someone who loves to cook, I can attest it is a chef’s kitchen completely stocked with everything you could need to cook a fabulous meal.

Seriously, this kitchen has everything you need, from BBQ tools to a variety of high-quality chef knives to an assortment of baking pans, pots, and skillets to make you feel like you could be the next top chef.

As every foodie knows, plating is important and there is ample dish option from a dinner set for over 12 to a variety of glasses such as for juice or wine glasses. Plus if you have any children staying, as we did, there is also a set of children dishes too.

While you are cooking there is plenty of seating space on the kitchen counter so you can talk to the rest of the guests while you cook.

During the day, our group of 10 divided to do different activities, but for meals, we came together for meals. Here you can see the table starting to get ready for our pancake breakfast with fresh fruit and maple syrup.

Walking out through the patio door in the dining room there is a large deck that in the summer that has a patio table and lounge chairs.

On one side of the large wrap around deck, there is a hot tub where you can view the hills and forest and a BBQ.

On the upstairs, there are two bedrooms, on in the studio and the other large bedroom I slept in.

The moment I saw the room I instantly knew I had to pick the room as it has vaulted ceilings and huge windows on two walls which give you a picturesque view of the sunrise in the morning.

The upstairs bedroom also offers a huge soaker tub and large jetted shower. Soaking in the spectacular deep tub with views of the forest made for a wonderful way to relax.

The Basement

In addition to the living room upstairs, the basement also offers another living room with a fireplace and a pool table.

For people staying at the cottage with children, you can see the massive play structure in the yard which would be fun for kids to play with.

The cottage itself is expertly decorated with a Canadiana theme, throughout the cottage a variety of interesting artifacts, paintings, and furniture pieces are group together for a warm and inviting space that is full of character.

In addition to the basement living room and sauna, there are also 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The bedroom has an amazing sliding barn door for the bathroom.

The second massive bedroom on the basement floor with sitting area.

The second large bedroom on the basement floor also has a large soaker tub and shower.

The Studio

Connected to the main cottage there is a private studio that can be rented that has a private entrance and offers plenty of space for a couple who might want to take a vacation. With its own kitchenette, living room, small dining table, luxurious bathroom and massive king size bed, it is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

The studio offers high vaulted ceilings, and in the middle of the room is a diving wall that splits the living and sleeping space. Here you can see the king size bed on the other side of the diving wall.

The Verdict

Chalet Charlevoix Quebec would make the perfect venue for a family reunion or a small corporate retreat. It is the nicest cottage I’ve ever stayed at, and all my friends who travelled with me on this trip all expressed how they wish they could live at the cottage because they liked it so much. The cottage owners were extremely friendly and helpful proving useful information about the cottage and nearby activities.

From the moment I arrived I was dazzled by how thoughtful, the cottage owners were for example unlike many cottages they provide clean bedding and towels, and upon further exploration, I found boxes of toys for children, board games for families and to my delight a variety of spices and cooking essentials.
