A Ottawa Scavenger Hunt You Have To Try At Least Once

Did you know the largest scavenger hunt in the world is taking place in Ottawa this September? Get your team ready by doing a practice scavenger hunt around Ottawa with Operation City Quest.  To play, buy your voucher online and download “GooseChase App: iPhone | Android

Next, you’ll need you’ll reserve your time, and you’ll be sent the details on how to play the game. Here in Ottawa you meet in front of the Lord Elgin Hotel and need to load the application to begin playing. Make sure prior to starting you have a fully charged phone and if you want to save some data reduce the quality your photos your phone takes so it won’t be uploading so many massive photographs and use up all your data plan.

For the scavenger hunt, you will be given 2 hours to play the game and collect the most points possible. Within the game app there are a variety of challenges such as trivia, funny photos and capturing photos of various things across Ottawa.

When playing the game, my team was given the option of customizing our game to focus more on funny challenges, trivia, points or a simple scavenger hunt to explore Ottawa aimed more for casual players or tourist. Wanting to rack in the points, I played the game as is and challenged my team to get as many points as possible within 2 hours.

When playing I highly recommend looking for the challenges worth the most points and doing them first. They often were finding landmarks, while finding things en route such as animals, types of buildings or restaurants were only worth a few additional points.

I was highly impressed by Operation City Quest, their customer service was outstanding. The entire time you are playing you are having a member of Operation City Quest available to answer your questions via text, approve your photos for points, and cheer you along as you got points.

The scavenger hunt gives you plenty of flexibility to explore downtown Ottawa at your own pace and encourages you to explore your own City with new eyes.

This was my second scavenger hunt around Ottawa, and I highly recommend Operation City Quest as either a fun way to spend time with friends, or it would make a fun date too!
