Without fail you’ll find steak on the menu each night on Royal Caribbean cruises. Yet, if you are searching for a more premium cut of steak you need to visit Chops Grille, their traditional steakhouse restaurant.
Chops Grille is open for lunch and dinner, but you need to pay extra to dine there. The price for dinner is $35 a person, but you can dine here for a lower rate if you get one of the meal plans for the premium restaurants.
Chops Grille is a great option if you don’t like what is being served in the dining room, or want a more intimate dining experience. I had the pleasure of dining at Chops Grille for dinner one night while I was aboard the Harmony of the Seas.
Dinner is a 3-course meal consisting of your choice of appetizer, main and dessert. To start I would recommend the charred beef carpaccio, which is topped with parmesan cheese, shaved asparagus and truffle mustard dressing or the beef tartar.

For your main, you can select from a variety of steaks such as filet mignon, NY strip streak or slow-braised short rib. All the steaks come with either the Béarnaise or pepper sauce and your choice of side dishes. I opted for the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked.
The sides are served family style in sharable portions, and you can order as many as you wish. I decided to try the creamed spinach, grilled asparagus, grilled mushrooms, macaroni and cheese and french fries.
For dessert, as molten chocolate cakes are one of my favourite desserts it is what I ordered. It came with a vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. I also tried a bit of the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting which was delicious too.

When it comes to the pay to dine restaurants on Royal Caribean without question my top choice is Wonderland. So if you can only afford to do one, pick that one as it will dazzle you with the innovative food and presentation. While if you are searching for a steak or romantic restaurant my first choice would still be 150 Central Park which I found was a nice atmosphere and I preferred the presentation of the main dishes better which weren’t served family-style. If you have a multi-day meal plan like I did, by all means, try Chops Grille it is good, just there are better options available.
