Sugaraholics, you need to visit Gigi’s Cupcakes in Nashville. I first discovered this sweet spot when on my Walk Eat Nashville. Gigi’s Cupcakes is a cupcake chain with almost 100 locations in the USA. But the first location opened in Nashville.
Like many others, Gigi headed to ‘Music City’ to become a singer and songwriter. But after that didn’t work out, she started her successful business Gigi’s Cupcakes!
The first store opened in Nashville in 2008. Today the cupcake shop is known for its signature swirl of frosting on every cupcake.
Within the bakery, you’ll find tons of mouthwatering sweets from regular to mini cupcakes that you will want to devour. They also offer a rotating menu of seasonal treats too.
Some of their famous flavours include Scarlett’s red velvet, strawberry shortcake, chocolate chip cookie dough, and the gluten-free wedding cake.
I admit I spent a few minutes drooling over the selection of cupcakes, before finally deciding on the chocolate chip cookie dough, as I thought the tiny cookie on top was adorable.
Biting into the cupcake, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Typically cookie dough flavoured things taste like vanilla cake with chocolate chips mixed-in.
But Gigi’s Cupcakes has the flavour down, so it tastes similar to raw cookie dough. It is a light and airy cupcake, loaded with a mountain of cookie dough frosting and topped with a mini chocolate chip cookie.
While I do love desserts, there is no way I could complete an entire cupcake. There is an equal ratio of frosting to the cupcake, so for me, one cupcake would be too rich. I suggest you split one for a friend or better still opt for a mini one, which is the perfect size.
You can check on Gigi’s Cupcakes website to find a location near you, or if you happen to be in Nashville, visit the original site, and you might get to meet Gigi in person.
