If you are looking for something to do this holiday season, you need to visit Glow Gardens. At the dazzling indoor holiday event, you can walk under a million twinkling lights. Here in Canada, Glow Gardens is taking place in multiple cities, including my hometown of Ottawa. In Ottawa, you can enjoy Glow Gardens from December 5, 2019, to January 4, 2020, at the EY Centre (4899 Uplands Dr).
If you hate the cold, this is the perfect Christmas event for you. You can wander through the light displays while staying toasty indoors.
This year Glow Gardens has an around the world theme. You’ll get to see landmarks from 6 different countries – Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Holland, and India.
When you enter, you’ll be given a passport, and you’ll be invited to collect passport stamps at each of the stops. If you get them all, you’ll get a small prize when you leave.
In addition to the monuments, there are several interactive light exhibits and photo frames where you can take festive holiday photos. My favourite was an area where you can walk through an area filled with hanging lights. It was absolutely magical!
There is also a small area where you can buy cocktails, glowing drinks, snacks and even a few small gifts from the market.
I went for the opening night with a few friends, and we loved every second of it. I would suggest planning to spend around 2 hours, depending on how long you want to spend taking photos at each spot.
Strolling through Glow Gardens, you can’t help but get in the holiday spirit. The entire time I had a massive smile on my face, and I hope it returns next year.
