Holiday Fun With CSI: Christmas Scene Investigation Online Escape Room

Can you save Christmas? The Panic Room‘s CSI: Christmas Scene Investigation online escape room is an affordable way to have some virtual festive fun with your friends.

The Panic Room recommends the game to be played with a team of up to 6 people/households (but ultimately, there is no limit on how big your team can be). So go ahead and invite all your friends to join in on the fun, if you wish.

How To Play

One person will need to purchase the game (£15) for the entire team to play. Next, you’ll need a way for everyone to talk, so programs like Discord or Zoom work well.

The person who purchased the game will get sent the information on how to begin. There will be a URL and password within the email that they will need to share with all players.

CSI: Christmas Scene Investigation (Spoiler-Free Review)

The story of the game is one of the elves have stolen the naughty and nice list. Thus it is your job to find the guilty elf and get the list so Santa can deliver presents.

The puzzles are streamlined, and everyone will need to work on each stage together. At first, you’ll see all possible suspects, and as the game progresses, you’ll get more clues until you can narrow it down.

At times you’ll get to watch videos from one of Santa’s helpers who will give you further clues. For example, was the elf wearing a red or green hat.

The mid-range difficulty is suitable for all players. In our game, the team powered through it in under an hour. But The Panic Room states the average completion time is between 1-2 hours.

The puzzles inside are well crafted, and while some are straightforward, others will take a few attempts before you figure it out. Thankfully if you ever get stuck, there is a hint button and an answer button, so you can always progress further in the game.

The story and design were cohesive and cheerful – and precisely what I crave around Christmas.

The £15 (approximately CAD 26) per team fee makes it a cheap way to get in the holiday spirit. I found the game well designed, as there was never a moment, I didn’t know what to do next, even if I need to figure out how to solve the problem.

If you are searching for a way to connect remotely with friends, this game won’t disappoint.
