Jamie Oliver is one of the most famous chefs in the world, and you can enjoy his fantastic recipes at his chain of restaurants Jamie’s Italian. Over the years I’ve seen Jamie Oliver on TV on several of his shows including Jamie’s School Dinners, Jamie’s Great Italian Escape, and Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, so I was thrilled to finally have the chance to go to one of his restaurants aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
Jamie’s Italian on Royal Caribbean Cruises
Aboard some Royal Caribbean cruise ships, they have Jamie’s Italian restaurants. These restaurants are fixed price menu, open for lunch and dinner, and it is recommended to make reservations ahead of time.
At Jamie’s Italian, you’ll find Tuscan-inspired dishes served family style. All the pasta is made fresh in-house daily and is super delicious!
First, you’ll begin your meal with Jamie’s Italian antipasti plank that is a massive board piled hile with cured meats (fennel salami, pistachio mortadella, prosciutto & schiacciata picante), Italian cheeses (Buffalo mozzarella an pecorino), seasonal vegetables, and pickles.
Other appetizers include crispy squid, roasted squash & ricotta bruschetta, and crispy arancini. I absolutely adored the antipasti plank which was a giant board with so much food it could have been a meal on its own.
For pastas and risottos there is a long list of delicious dishes including truffle tagliatelle, penne pomodoro, bake lasagne, crab spaghettini, prawn linguine, wild mushroom and smoked mozzarella risotto, and penne carbonara.
There is also a variety of entrees, like Jamie’s Italian burger, lamb lollipops, signature porchetta, prosciutto, and shaved pear salad and rib-eye steak.
After such a giant meal you might not have any room left for dessert, but you need to sample the sweets at Jamie’s Italian as they are sweet bliss. On the menu are raspberry rippled pavlova, tiramisu, Amalfi lemon meringue cheesecake, frangipane tart and epic homemade brownie.

After trying every dessert on the menu, for me, the raspberry rippled pavlova was the clear winner followed closely by the epic brownie and lemon meringue cheesecake.
I typically don’t overly enjoy pavlova but Jamie Oliver’s version was nice and light with a zest cream, macerated raspberries, and a smashed honeycomb. The flavors were bright, not too sweet and pure bliss to eat.
The epic brownie is a fan favorite, as it is a warm fudge brownie topped with caramelized popcorn, while the cheesecake is mascarpone and lemon cheesecake topped with meringue.
Final Thoughts On Jamie’s Italian
Jamie’s Italian offers extraordinarily affordable prices for food from one of the best chefs in the world. I was highly impressed with the friendly service, generous portions and the quality of the food. The pasta was divine, the food boards left me speechless with their epic presentation and the desserts were some of the best I had on my Royal Caribbean cruise.
While this restaurant is one you have to pay extra to dine at, you won’t regret it. I loved the experience so much that I’m planning a road trip to some of Jamie’s Italian other locations such as in Toronto so I can enjoy the food again.
