Located in Chertsey Quebec, Le Jeanne d’Arc is a luxurious retreat a short drive from Montreal and Ottawa. The modern vacation cottage, which is available to rent, offers a luxurious stay within the forest and a breathtaking view of a private waterfall in the backyard of the property.
The Cottage
Once you step into the cottage you can’t help but marvel at the carefully selected design choices that combine natural elements such as cement floors, raw edge tables and stone counters that reflect the natural beauty outdoors.
The entire cottage is designed so that all rooms have large windows facing the waterfall, so no matter if you are eating dinner in the dining room, lying in bed, or sitting in the sauna you can view the spectacular waterfall.
If you enjoy cooking, as I do, you’ll appreciate the cottage has a chef’s kitchen with a large gas stove and plenty of dishes and pans to cook with. Meanwhile, other details in the kitchen, such as the dishwasher, espresso machine, to the small details such a variety of wine glasses (glass and plastic for outdoors) left me delighted, as my every need was thought of and provided for throughout my stay.
One of my favourite spots in the cottage would have to be sitting at the raw edge dining room table sipping espresso while watching the misty waterfall early in the morning. No matter what I was doing at the cottage, such as relaxing at the cottage’s private spa, to just waking up in the morning, all my activities often returned to me stopping to appreciate the soothing waterfall in the backyard.
The cottage is perfect for large families, or several couples looking for a private oasis to rent for a vacation, Le Jeanne d’Arc offers 4 bedrooms (2 with a king and 2 with queen beds) in addition to a sofa bed. Connected to each bedroom is an ensuite bathroom, and there is one additional half bath on the main floor as well.
One of the wonderful things about the cottage is how private it feels, with no neighbors viewable in the front of the back of the property you can relax out in nature, with all modern amenities still available.
To help you relax Le Jeanne d’Arc has outdoor seating where you can watch the waterfall, an outdoor patio set and BBQ, a large sauna, gym, a hot tub, a hammock, and a beautiful outdoor fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows.
At just $625 a night, or $78 a person when split between 8 people, the cottage offers a glamorous stay in nature that will appeal to many. For most the challenge will be leaving, as I know I personally had a hard time leaving this beautiful rental as everything about it was simply perfect.
