While trying to escape the sudden rain in New York City, my friends and I found ourselves stumbling into Madame Tussauds. With 6 floors of super realistic wax figures, it was a fun way to laugh while posing with celebrity icons.
It is easy to spend a 1 to 3 hours exploring the exhibits, as you will need to wait in line to pose for each photograph, with some celebrities being more popular than others. It is impressive how detailed the figures are with some looking so realistic you can’t help but come in close and examine all the intricate details.
For those who arrived in New York City by bus, Madame Tussauds is conventionally located right beside the bus station making it a great activity to do before heading home by the bus.
When I visited, a large section was closed to prepare for the new Ghostbusters exhibit that was opening, so I found the regular cost of $45 to be a bit expensive. Yet, it is possible to save if you buy your ticket in advance you can pay $25, which is certainly worth it if you want to take a bunch of fun selfies to share with friends.
Currently, the main exhibit is James Bond, providing six James Bond figures with 5 inside and one out front, including Daniel Craig, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan. If you happen to be able to visit before the show heads to Las Vegas on June 30th you can speak to the person outside the door beside Daniel Craig and he will give you a poker chip that will give you 50% off for your entire group off the price of admission.
