Did you know The Momo Spot in Ottawa now delivers? Chances are you’ve seen this local business at the Ottawa’s Farmers Market, but if you haven’t ever tried them, you are seriously missing out. The company makes momos, a type of steamed dumpling that is popular in Nepal. Inside they are loaded with pork, chicken or tofu and a delicious blend of spices.
The Momo Spot In Ottawa
Chances are you’ve tried frozen dumplings at the grocery store, which are bland. But The Momo Spot’s frozen momos are packed with flavour.
Currently, they have three options pork, chicken or vegan momos. Each order contains 24 momos, which is enough for four people.
No matter which one you pick, they are all $15, and if you order two or more bags, they deliver for free in Ottawa. Otherwise, it is just a small delivery fee.
For my order, I picked pork, which I loved. I was impressed with how much meat is stuffed inside. It also had a lovely taste, with the cilantro, ginger and garlic being flavourful without overpowering.
The dumplings arrive in a resealable bag so you can cook as many as you need and have the ingredient list and cooking instructions.
You also get to pick between one of the three sauces, spicy sesame, chilli cilantro, and a non-spicy sauce. I chose the fantastic chilli cilantro, with only a subtle heat.
If you have the freezer space, I suggest you get a few bags to stock your freezer. The Nepalese dumplings are an easy dinner when you are too tired to cook. All you need to do is steam them for 20 minutes (15 minutes for the vegan momos). That is it – dinner is made!
To get your hands on some of The Momo Spot frozen food, you can order on their website. Deliveries are made on Sundays across Ottawa.
