Staying at home never has been so sweet. Just because you are practicing social distancing doesn’t mean you can’t dive into a slice of cake or pie. Right now, most bakeries are closed to the public, and grocery stores have long lines out the door. Even if you are a fantastic baker, just getting your hands on the supplies you need can be a challenge. But there is good news, plenty of Ottawa dessert delivery options.
It is a double win situation, you enjoy your favourite sweet, and you are helping to support a local business in this challenging time. As many shops are delivering for the first time, they aren’t always on sites like Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes. Instead, you might need to contact them directly to place an order.
To save you time on figuring out where will send donuts, cupcakes, cakes, pies and more, I’ve made a list of the top Ottawa dessert delivery options during COVID-19.
Quelque Chose Pâtisserie
If you adore light and airy macarons just like you would enjoy in Paris, then you need to discover Quelque Chose Pâtisserie. Here the sweets taste just as good as the super fancy ones you’ll find in France, and they won’t break the bank. Throughout the year they release new flavours, and everything I’ve had is delicious. When it comes to Ottawa sweets, this is one of my absolute favourite places that I keep ordering from. If you want to enjoy a box of macarons, place an order on Uber Eats.
Doughbaby Doughnuts
Doughbaby Doughnuts are my top pick for donuts in the city, they always taste so fresh and come with gorgeous designs. Not only are they nut-free but you can get vegan treats too. Throughout the year they offer new seasonal flavours that you can find listed on their Instagram or Facebook page. Right now they offer free delivery in the West End or pickup in Kanata, and for a small charge, they ship to downtown. Currently, they can’t deliver to the east end. To place an order send them an email at doughbaby.doughnuts@gmail.com. It is $18 for 6, $32 for 12 and payment are made via e-transfer.
