For the ultimate luxurious stay in Vienna, you must stay at The Park Hyatt Vienna. The Park Hyatt Vienna is a 100-year-old building that used to be the headquarters of the Lower Austrian Escompte Bank. The glamorous building is in Vienna’s old town (otherwise known as the Innere Stadt) close to most of Vienna’s best tourist attractions.
Within the 143 room hotel, you’ll enjoy the breathtaking interiors, and can enjoy five fantastic dining spaces, along with a spa located in the former bank vault.
The Room
All the lavish rooms and suites at the Park Hyatt Vienna are stunning incorporating marble, wood and mother-of-pearl accents. For my stay, I was in the King Bed View Deluxe room. The massive room was extremely spacious with sophisticated decor. There was a giant king bed, seating area with a sofa and armchair, a desk that overlooks the room, a walk-in closet and a dreamy bathroom.
The bathroom has double vanities on either side, a separate bathtub, and a spacious marble shower with a rainfall showerhead and built-in seating. It was the perfect spot to pamper yourself, and I appreciated all the luxurious Blaise Mautin toiletries provided in the bathroom including a jar of bath salts. After a long day exploring the city, soaking my sore muscles in the tub with the bath salts was heavenly.
Location
The location of this hotel in Vienna, couldn’t be more perfect. The hotel has a pedestrian shopping street directly outside the hotel where you can find designer stores like Channel, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry. Right across the street, you can find the Am Hof Market where you can purchase art, and locally made food and goods. It is a lovely spot to explore.
You can easily spend hours shopping as there are tons of shops near the hotel, but just a few minutes walk away you can visit the popular tourist attraction St. Peter’s Catholic Church or The Hofburg Palace.
Dining
There are so many fantastic dining options at The Park Hyatt Vienna that you will want to try them all. There is the Bank Brasserie & Bar, Cafe Am Hof, the wood-panelled Living Room a cigar lounge where you can relax with a glass of whiskey, the Lounge which is perfect for a cocktail or a light meal, and the Am Hof Schanigarten which is an exterior patio where you can order a glass of champagne.
The Bank Brasserie & Bar
The Bank Brasserie & Bar is the most spectacular dining spot within The Park Hyatt Vienna. The restaurant is named because the location used to be a bank and offers a beautiful dining space. Here you’ll find stain glass windows, massive chandeliers, marble walls, and an open kitchen that allows you to watch the chefs preparing the mouth-watering food.
The Bank Brasserie & Bar offers an outstanding brunch, which is the best brunch buffet I’ve ever seen! It has a massive brunch selection, but what I appreciated was the range of healthier options to pick from. You can make fresh fruit juice, cut microgreens to top your breakfast, and there is plenty of vegan or vegetarian options too. As part of the impressive brunch spread, you’ll find tons of fresh fruit, granolas, loaves of bread, pastries, cheese, meats, eggs, bacon, sausage, salads and more. Next, to the brunch selection, you’ll also find several bottles of champagne near the assorted juices so that you can enjoy a mimosa with your brunch.
To complement the breakfast buffet, you can also order off the menu too. On the breakfast menu, you’ll find dishes like poached eggs served over avocado or some seriously delicious carrot waffles topped with agave syrup and pumpkin seeds. The Bank Brasserie & Bar is also open for lunch and dinner where they offer a plat du jour menu and a la carte menu.
If you are looking to enjoy a cocktail, the bar at The Bank Brasserie & Bar is well worth a visit too. It is a beautiful bar with a stain glass wall. The restaurant also has a direct entrance off the street, so even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, it is well worth visiting The Bank Brasserie for a meal or a drink at the bar.
Café Am Hof
If you love pastries, make sure to visit Cafe Am Hof which is a charming traditional Viennese coffeehouse that offers exceptional pastries and coffee (it is also an excellent spot for lunch too). The outside terrace, Am Hof Schanigarten make the perfect spot to enjoy people-watching while you sip a glass of champagne or enjoy some of the mouth-watering pastries.
Arany Spa
Located in the former bank vault, you’ll find Arany Spa within The Park Hyatt Vienna. The tranquil space has plenty of spots to relax on lounge chaises, a vast indoor pool, sauna, and gym. The pool area is gorgeous and is the perfect spot to relax.
