Warm Up With A Chocolate Bomb From Sweet Surprises 613

Have you not tried the chocolate bomb trend? Here in Ottawa, one local business that sells them is Sweet Surprises 613. This small business specializes in chocolate bombs and offers a long list of flavours in regular and eye-catching designs.

I’m grateful as Sweet Surprises 613 gifted me a box of assorted chocolate treats, but as always, I’ll give an honest review below.

Inside my dessert box were a cakesickle, a bombsickle, a mini chocolate bomb and a geo heart.

To make the hot chocolate bomb, you mix it with hot milk, and the chocolate shell will explode to release the hot chocolate powder and fillings like marshmallows.

In my experience, all the chocolate bombs worked well. One problem this type of drink can face is that the chocolate shell is too thick to crack. But when I poured warmed milk, it did break easily, and the flavouring blended well to create a creamy drink.

What I found fun about Sweet Surprises 613 is you aren’t limited to just spheres. Instead, they have hearts, baby Yoda, unicorns, and other designs that change throughout the year. While the shape doesn’t change the taste, it does make the treat look extra special.

Some of the chocolate bomb flavours available are: mint chocolate, salted caramel, Coffee Crisp, After Eight, peppermint, cinnamon, Turtles, coffee, and decadent chocolate.

A four-pack of geo hearts or spheres is $26.

Meanwhile, a cakesicle is $5 each and comes in chocolate, vanilla or red velvet. The one I tried was everything you’d expect from a cakesicle, it was covered in a thick chocolate shell, and inside there was a moist cake filling. I’m sure this type of dessert would be a hit with children as it is portable.
